Private tour - Mussel taste
Experience the distinctive briny taste and tender texture of the Queen of Butrinti Lake.
Pick up point / port of Saranda/ Center of the town. On the way to the local restaurant some history of Saranda and the surrounding area, history of how the activity of growing and cultivating mussels became important for the region and all Albania during communist time.
A special and particular experience for every one who wants to take personally from Butrint Lake their mussels for lunch, see how it is cleaned and cooked. Local recipe and local wine. Everything natural, fresh and bio.
The tour starts from Saranda, almost 25-30 min by car. A short trip in small boat will take you to the mussel beds where you can pick your mussels and see where it grows and how. A fisherman will show how is cleaned and after that you can eat a nice light lunch with mussels.
After lunch back in town. The drop off point will be the same of the pick up point or the center of the town if you want to have a nice walk on the promenade.
